BEFORE YOU BEGIN RECORDING:
Review the questions below.  Choose as few or as many as you wish.  Think about your answers.  Rehearse your answers a few times.  Set up for the recording so that the lighting is good, you are centered in the screen, there are no distracting side noises or visuals. Don’t worry – we’ll fix any “mistakes.”  Enjoy and have fun.

 

BEGIN YOUR RECORDING BY DOING THE FOLLOWING:
1. State your full name.
2. State the name of your school.
3. State your instrument.
4. State your grade.
FOR PARENT INTERVIEWS: State all the info above about your child as well as your name.

 

TIPS ON USING THE RECORDER
On desktop:
You can choose to either upload an existing video from your computer or record directly from your webcam on the page. To record a new video, click “Record video.” You should be prompted to grant this page permission to access your webcam and microphone. Once you see a preview of yourself and your audio levels, all you have to do is hit the red button on the bottom left to record. You should see the counter in the middle counting down — that means you’re recording!  Hit the button again to stop.

IMPORTANT: Do not close the window right away.  Depending on your connection speed, the video may still need to finish uploading after you finish recording. If you see a progress bar, wait for the progress bar to finish before closing the tab.

On mobile:
Use the button above to record or select a video to upload. After you’re done, wait for the upload to finish before closing the page.
