School Music AI is an emerging music education program exploring how artificial intelligence can support individualized instrumental learning while keeping teachers, rehearsals, and live music-making at the center. The goal is to help young musicians get useful support between lessons and rehearsals so they arrive better prepared to make music together in school bands, orchestras, ensembles, and Honor Orchestra.

The CMW Story
Music education built around successful first experiences.
Founded and directed by music educator, author, and professional trumpet player Larry Newman, Children’s Music Workshop began with a commitment to providing high-quality instrumental music instruction for young students.
That work grew into programs serving more than 100 schools and thousands of young musicians throughout the Los Angeles area. Over the years, Children’s Music Workshop has provided band, orchestra, recorder, guitar, and other instrumental programs, along with concerts, ensembles, and special performance opportunities.
The philosophy has remained consistent: children learn best when strong instruction is combined with music they enjoy playing. The goal is to build solid musical fundamentals while making a child’s first experiences with an instrument positive, successful, and fun.
From the Classroom to Publishing
Music Fun Books grew directly from the teaching experience.
Years in the classroom revealed a need for beginning music books created specifically for young students. Those materials developed into Music Fun Books, an extensive collection of instructional books, repertoire, free resources, audio, video lessons, and teacher materials for band and orchestra instruments, piano, guitar, ukulele, recorder, ensembles, and more.
