Calvert Charter for Enriched Studies Music Program

The 2018 – 2019 Calvert Charter for Enriched Studies Instrumental Band and Orchestra Program is open to all third, fourth and fifth grade students – with or without musical experience.

The program is directed by Larry Newman and classes are taught by Ms. Desiree’ Deasy.

Students may choose the violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet or p-Bone mini.

Instruction begins on Friday, September 28, 2018 and runs through the school year, culminating with a school concert on April 12, 2019. Thirty minute lessons will be provided every Friday morning during regular school hours.

Because of the nature of a pull-out program, orchestra students must maintain their academics or they will not be allowed to participate. The orchestra program requires a one year commitment and regular home practice.

There is no required fee to participate. Funding for instruction is provided by grants and donations. Donations are gratefully appreciated and can be made to the Calvert School PTA Orchestra Fund.

Instruments are available for loan, rent or purchase and are delivered directly to school for the first lesson. Visit The Instrument Place to place your order.
