The St. Matthew's After School Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades one through six. (For grades five and six, please click here. Grades one through four continue reading on this page.)

The program is directed by Larry Newman. Mandy Fey and Greg Alper are the music instructors.

Lessons are are offered for both begining students and students who have had prior musical instruction.

Instruction is offered on guitar, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, baritone horn and trombone. (First graders may only choose the violin and you must be in at least third grade to play the saxophone or baritone horn.)

Small group classes will be scheduled every 30 - 40 minutes after school on Wednesdays after school from 3:00 - 5:10 PM.

Please have your child’s schedule clear for a 30 - 40 minute lesson during this time block. Beginning students will have the earlier lesson times.

The exact schedule will be determined when enrollment is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The final schedule of classes will be emailed to all applicants prior to the first day of class.

Classes run from Wednesday, October 3, 2012 through May 2013.

An instructional fee of $495 is requested to cover all lessons for the 2012-2013 school year. In addition, a $25 music fee is requested to cover all books, sheet music and basic supplies your child is given.

The only other expense will be the rent, lease or purchase of the instrument. Order your instrument now from String Season and received free delivery to school for the first lesson on October 3. Order here!
