Porter Ranch Community School Instrumental Music Program
The program is directed by Larry Newman and classes are taught by the outstanding faculty of Children’s Music Workshop.
Weekly classes are offered for 30 – 40 minutes each Thursday after school beginning on Thursday, September 14, 2017 and running throughout the school year until Thursday, April 12, 2018.
• First graders may only choose the violin.
• Second and third graders may choose the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, pBone mini or ukulele.
• Fourth through eighth graders may choose the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, pBone mini, trombone or ukulele.
Classes are for beginning students with no prior experience on their chosen instrument as well as for students with prior lessons and experience.
Thirty to forty minute classes will take place on Thursdays between the hours of 2:30 and 5:00 PM beginning on Thursday, September 14, 2017. The final schedule and location of classes will be announced via email after enrollment is complete.
Please clear your child’s schedule on Thursdays from 2:30 – 5:00 PM so that he/she is available for their particular lesson time when it is announced. (First grade violin class will be offered immediately following dismissal at 2:30 PM.)
Music Instructional Fees
A fee of $565 is requested from each participant to cover the entire 2017 – 2018 school year of weekly music lessons – including all music, books and basic supplies which your child is given throughout the year. (September 14, 2017 – April 12, 2018)
The only other expense will be the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument. Once the application has been filled out, please print it and follow-up by mailing it along with your check.
