The Los Encinos School Instrumental
Music Program is open to all students
in grades Kindergarten through six.
The program is directed by Larry Newman. Classes are taught by
Howard Lubin.
Weekly classes are offered for 30 minutes each Friday after school.
Instruction is available on guitar, recorder, flute, clarinet,
and trumpet.
Instruction begins on Friday, October 3 and runs through
the school year, culminating with a school concert in May
2009.
Friday Instructional Schedule
(subject to change depending on enrollment)
Beginning Recorders (Grades K - 1) 3:00 - 3:30 PM
Beginning Guitars (Grades 2 - 5) 3:30 - 4:00 PM
Intermediate (second year) Guitars (Grades 3 - 6) 4:00 -
4:30 PM
Beginning Flutes, Clarinets, Trumpets (Grades 2 - 5) 4:30
- 5:00 PM
Orchestra Flutes, Clarinets and Trumpet 5:00 - 5:30 PM
(Students should report to the hall no later than five minutes
before the start of their class.)
Music Fee
A music fee of $475 requested from each participant. This
fee covers the entire 2008-2009 school year and includes
all music, books and basic supplies which your child is
given. The only other expense will be the lease, rental or
purchase of the instrument.
Getting an Instrument
Through special arrangements with a local music retailer,
instruments are available for purchase, rent or lease-to-own
at up to 45% off the retail price for participating music
students.
