Children's Music Workshop - Quality Music Instruction for Private and Public Schools

The Holy Family School Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades one through seven.

The program is directed by Larry Newman. Desiree’ Deasy is the music specialist.

Weekly classes are offered each Monday after school.

Instruction is available on violin, flute, clarinet, and trumpet. (See Monday After School Schedule for grade restrictions.)

Instruction begins on Monday, October 6 and runs through the school year, culminating with a school concert in May 2009.

3:00 - 3:30 PM - Beginning Violins for Grades 1, 2 & 3
3:30 - 4:05 PM - Intermediate Violins for Grades 2, 3 & 4
4:05 - 4:40 PM - Beginning Flutes, Clar. & Trpt. for Grades 3-5
4:40 - 5:15 PM - Intermediate Flutes, Clar. & Trpt. for Grades 4-7

Music Fee
A music fee of $250 per half year of instruction is requested from each participant. This fee includes all music, books and basic supplies which your child is given. The only other expense will be the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument.

Getting an Instrument
Through special arrangements with a local music retailer, instruments are available for purchase, rent or lease-to-own at up to 45% off the retail price for participating music students.

Children's Music Workshop Wins Los Angeles Area Emmy® for Children/Youth Programming

The Los Angeles area Emmy award nominations were announced on July 10.

The 2007 All Schools Elementary Honor Orhestra at UCLA program received a nomination in the Children/Youth Programming Category.

The one hour special - produced and directed by Larry Newman - was the only nominated program in its category. Categories that receive five or less entries must receive a 2/3 approval to receive a nomination.

Winners in these single nomination categories will receive their Emmy statuette at the awards presentation on September 6, 2008 at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood, California.
