The Fairburn Avenue Elementary School Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades one through five.

Dave Etterbeek is the woodwind & brass specialist. Debbie Klak is the strings specialist. Larry Newman is the music director.

Instruction is available on recorder, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, violin & cello. First graders may only choose the recorder.
No musical experience is required to enroll in a beginning class.

Instruction runs through the school year, culminating with a school orchestra concert in Spring 2009.

The orchestra program requires a one year commitment and regular home practice.
A one-time yearly music fee of $465 is requested from each participant to cover weekly instruction from October 2008 through May 2009. This fee includes all music, books and basic supplies which your child is given.

The only other expense will be the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument. (Recorders are provided free with enrollment.)

Thirty to forty minute classes are offered each Tuesday after school (early dismissal day) beginning on October 14.

Please have the after school time available from 1:45 - 4:00 PM. The exact time of your lesson will be announced after enrollment is compete. To help you plan, the beginning classes are usually held earlier than the intermediate and advanced classes.

Through special arrangements with a local music retailer, instruments are available for purchase, rent or lease-to-own at up to 45% off the retail price for participating music students.

Visit www.stringseason.com/cmw for more information and to place your order for delivery to school in time for the first lesson.
