Castlebay Lane Elementary Instrumental Music Program

The 2017 – 2018 Castlebay Lane Elementary Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades one through five.

The program is directed by Larry Newman and classes are taught by Desiree’ Deasy and Bianca Samaniego.

Instrument Choices
• First graders may only choose the violin.
• Second graders may choose the violin or ukulele.
• Third, fourth and fifth graders may choose the violin, cello, ukulele, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet or pBone mini.

Classes are held every Monday after school beginning on Monday, October 2, 2017 and run through the school year, culminating with a school concert on Monday, April 23, 2018.

Small group classes will be scheduled every 30 – 40 minutes after school on Mondays after school between 2:50 – 4:50 PM.

Please have your child’s schedule clear for a 30 – 40 minute lesson during this time block. (First grade students will be scheduled immediately after dismissal at 2:50 PM.)  Students waiting to take a later lesson often participate in another enrichment activity on campus, go home and return to campus for their lesson or attend LAUSD’s Beyond the Bell supervised yard program.

The exact schedule will be determined when enrollment is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The final schedule of classes will be emailed to all applicants a few days prior to the first day of class.

Program Costs
