The Carlthorp After School
Instrumental Music Program is offered to all students in grades
one through six.
The program is directed by Larry
Newman, director of Children's Music Workshop. Mandy Fey is the music specialist.
Lessons are are offered for both begining students and students who have had
prior musical instruction.
GRADE RESTRICTIONS
First Grade: Violin
Second Grade: Violin, flute, clarinet, and trumpet
Third through Sixth Grades: Violin, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, baritone horn, and trombone
Small group classes will be scheduled every 30 - 40 minutes on Thursdays
after school from 3:00 - 5:30 PM.
Please have your child’s schedule clear for a 30 - 40 minute lesson during
this time block. Beginning students will have the earlier lesson times. After school child care is available for students waiting to take their lesson.
The exact schedule will be determined when enrollment is complete. We apologize
for any inconvenience this may cause.
The final schedule of classes will be emailed to all applicants prior to the
first day of class on Thursday, October 6.
The requested fee for one full year of weekly music lessons is $520. This covers all classes, music, books and basic supplies. The only other cost is the rental, lease or purchase of the musical instrument.
Classes run from Thursday, September 20 through Thursday, May 16, 2013,
culminating with a school orchestra concert in Friday, May 17, 2013.
