Calvary Christian School Instrumental Music Program is open to all students from grade one and higher.

The award winning Children's Music Workshop program is directed by Larry Newman.

Weekly classes are offered for 30 - 40 minutes each Monday after school beginning on Monday, September 30, 2013.

First graders may only choose the violin.

Second and third graders may choose the violin, flute, clarinet or trumpet.

Fourth grade and higher may choose the violin, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet or baritone horn.

Classes are for beginning students with no prior experience on their chosen instrument as well as for students with prior lessons and experience.

Small group instruction (6 to 12 students) will take place on Mondays between the hours of 3:00 and 5:45 PM beginning on Monday, September 30, 2013 and concluding with a school orchestra concert in June 2014. The final schedule and location of classes will be announced via email after enrollment is complete.

Please clear your child's schedule on Mondays from 3:00 - 5:45 PM so that he/she is available for their particular lesson time when it is announced. If there is a conflict with a sports practice, coaches and teachers will work out a solution so that students can do both activities.

-Students may drop their instruments off in the PAC before school. Please send your instrument to school with your student on Monday mornings.

-Students who's classes start later may wait in the library and work on homework.

-Please remind your child to show up to class a few minutes early to quietly unpack and set up their instrument before class starts.

-All students must be picked up promptly when their classes end. Please park in the church lot and walk up to the PAC by the time your child's class ends. Students from the beginner class will be sent to the school office if their parents are not here, everyone else will be asked to wait quietly in the PAC until their parents arrive if they are running late.

Music Instructional Fees
A music fee of $495 is requested from each participant. This fee includes all music, books and basic supplies which your child is given for the entire 2013-14 school year of music lessons.

The only other expense will be the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument.

Free Tuition/Music Rental for Parent Music Helper
Students waiting to take their music lesson can do homework in the library after school. A parent helper is needed on Monday afternoons to procotor students who are studying in the library while they wait to attend their lesson. If you are available to help on a weekly basis every Monday from 3:00 - 4:30 PM, please email Mr. Newman. Volunteers will receive free music tuition and a free instrument rental for the school year.
