The Calabash Charter Academy After School Music Program

The 2017 – 2018 Calabash Charter Academy After School Music Program is open to all students in grades one through five. The program is taught by the outstanding faculty of Children’s Music Workshop.

• First graders may only choose the violin.
• Second, third, fourth and fifth graders may choose the violin, cello, or ukulele.

Instruction begins on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 and runs through the school year, culminating with a school concert on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 3:30 PM.

A fee of $565 is requested to cover a school-year of music lessons from September 19, 2017 through April 24, 2018. This fee covers all books, sheet music and basic supplies which your child is given throughout the year.  Limited financial aid is also available.

The only additional expense is the rental, lease or purchase of an instrument. Instruments are available through our official supplier, The Instrument Place. Order online now and get free delivery to school for the first lesson.

Small group classes will be scheduled every 30 – 40 minutes after school on Tuesdays after school between 1:35 – 4:00 PM. Please have your child’s schedule clear for a 30 – 40 minute lesson during this time block. Younger beginning students will have the earlier lesson times with first graders meeting immediately after school.  The exact schedule will be determined when enrollment is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. (Parents are responsible for child care before and after the scheduled lesson time.)

Free Music Tuition and Instrument Rental
A parent volunteer is needed to assist students coming and going to music on Tuesdays. If you are available every Tuesday from 1:35 – 3.30 PM to help, please email Mr. Newman. Parent volunteers receive a full tuition waiver and free instrument rental.

The final schedule of classes will be emailed to all applicants prior to the first day of class.
