The Berkeley Hall
School Instrumental Music Program is open to all students
in grades one through eight. (See photos.)
The program is directed by Larry Newman and lessons are taught
by Kathy Shaw.
Weekly classes are offered for
students in grades one through eight on Wednesdays between the
hours of 12:30 and 3:15 PM.
FIRST GRADE VIOLIN CLASS
Our first grade violin class is designed to introduce children to
the joy of music making through the violin.
All first graders will receive a small group 30-minute
lesson each week and will be provided with a size-appropriate instrument
for use in the class. First grade violin class is provided as a part
of the Berkeley Hall School curriculum and there is no additonal
fee for the lessons or the violin.
WOODWIND, BRASS AND STRING
CLASSES FOR GRADES TWO THROUGH EIGHT
Students in grades two through eight have the election option on Wednesdays
of receiving instruction on flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, baritone
horn, trombone, violin, and cello. Students must be in atleast fourth grade to
choose the saxophone, baritone horn or trombone.
A music instructional fee of $495 for the 2011 - 2012 school year is requested from each participant. (October 2011 through May 2012). This fee includes all music, books
and basic supplies.
Classes begin on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.
GETTING AN INSTRUMENT
First grade violin students are provided with a school violin at no charge.
