Berkeley Hall School Instrumental Music Program

The Berkeley Hall School Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades one through eight.

The program is directed by Larry Newman. Mandy Fey is the instrumental music specialist.

Weekly classes are offered for 30 minutes each Tuesday during regular school hours.

Instruction is available on violin, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, & trumpet.

Classes are available for students with no prior experience on their chosen instrument as well as for students with some experience.

A music fee of $495 for academic 2008-2009 school year is requested from each participant.

This fee includes all music, books and basic supplies which your child is given.

The only other expense will be the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument.

Tuesday Music Schedule

11:00 AM to 11:30 AM - Intermediate Violins (Grades 2 -4)

11:30 AM to 12:00 PM - Beginning Violins (Grades 1 & 2)

12 NOON to 12:30 PM - Beginning Flutes, Clarinets and Trumpets (Grades 3 - 6)

12:30 PM to 1:00 PM - Intermediate Flutes, Clarinets, Saxes and Trumpets (Grades 3 - 8)

Children's Music Workshop Wins Los Angeles Area Emmy® for Children/Youth Programming.

The Los Angeles area Emmy award nominations were announced on July 10.

The 2007 All Schools Elementary Honor Orhestra at UCLA program received a nomination in the Children/Youth Programming Category.

The one hour special - produced and directed by Larry Newman - was the only nominated program in its category. Categories that receive five or less entries must receive a 2/3 approval to receive a nomination.

Winners in these single nomination categories will receive their Emmy statuette at the awards presentation on September 6, 2008 at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood, California.
