The Academy for Enriched Sciences (AES)
The 2017 – 2018 Academy for Enriched Sciences Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades one through five.
The program is directed by Larry Newman and classes are taught by music educators Desiree’ Deasy and Bianca Samaniego
• First graders may choose the violin only.
• Second graders and up may choose the ukulele, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet or pBone mini.
Instruction begins on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 and runs through the spring, culminating with a school concert on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 1:15 PM.
Small group classes will be scheduled every 30 – 40 minutes after school on Wednesdays from 2:40 PM – 5:00 PM.
Please have your child’s schedule clear for a 30 – 40 minute lesson during this time block. (First grade students will be scheduled immediately after dismissal at 2:40 PM.) Students waiting to take a later lesson may opt to go home with parents and then return to school at lesson time. Or, please contact the school regarding available campus supervision for students waiting to take their lesson.

The final schedule of classes will be emailed to all applicants a few days prior to the first day of class.
A one-time fee of $565 is requested from each participant to cover weekly music instruction for the entire 2017-2018 school year as well as all music, books and basic supplies which your child is given throughout the year. The only other expenses will be the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument.
